Make 2014 the year that you truly step into your light and live the life you were meant to live!
Beginning Monday, January 6 and continuing the first Monday of each month for six months (until June 2nd), we’re going to explore all aspects of the six practices to transform your life—silencing your lunatic roommate through journaling, reclaiming the present moment through mindfulness, soul-centered meditation, forgiveness and gratitude, discovering your voice, and envisioning the life of your dreams. We’ll have fun together and become inspired, hopeful and transformed in the process.
Stepping Into Your Power includes:
- Six-Month tele-workshop with five inspirational thought leaders: Karen Ely, Sarah McLean, Lori S. Rubenstein, Sarah Payne Naylor and April Ely presenting six transformational practices (see details below).
- Two tele-conference calls each month for six months:
- The first Monday evening of each month from January 6th through June 2nd 2014 at 6:00pm MT (5pm Pacific, 7pm Central, 8pm Eastern) you’ll “meet” on a conference call where that month’s facilitator (see schedule below) will present an experiential explanation of that month’s practice. If you miss one, they’ll be recorded.
- Three days later—the Thursday after each Monday evening’s call at 6pm MT (5pm Pacific, 7pm Central, 8pm Eastern) that month’s facilitator will host a conference call Q & A to answer your questions on that month’s practice (which will also be recorded). If you’re unable to join the Q & A call, you can e-mail your questions to email@example.com and we’ll make sure the facilitator gets your question(s) for discussion that Thursday evening.

January 6 at 6pm MT SILENCE YOUR LUNATIC ROOMMATE Karen Ely
What a shock it was when Karen Ely discovered that she was not the voice in her head. She was so much more; she was the listener. And more than that, she discovered that the voice in her head was incredibly destructive, the ramblings of a “lunatic roommate” who never shared any good news. Once that became clear, she searched for ways to silence this voice and found that the most profound tool was journaling. She now uses her journal as a tool to quiet her mind and listen to her self, her soul’s voice. She has been writing and listening to her own voice for over 20 years and credits it with delivering her the life she currently lives, an authentic one filled with joy and passion and peace. During this tele-workshop session, Karen will explain the destructive energy of this lunatic roommate and the power that comes from silencing the roommate’s voice with the life-changing practice of daily journaling. Karen Ely is the founder and director of A Woman’s Way, one of the country’s premier women’s retreat and workshop program located in Sedona, Arizona. February 3 at 6pm MT MINDFULNESS: RECLAIMING THE PRESENT MOMENT April Ely
In April Ely’s work as a psychotherapist she is always looking for tools to support her client’s path to a healthier, more joyful life. In her search, she discovered Mindfulness—a secular practice which uses simple, universal techniques as a powerful tool for decreasing stress, depression, and anxiety, and increasing health, well-being, and the ability to relate to others. Through many years of study, personal practice, and work she has done with clients, April has observed that Mindfulness is a powerful practice for awakening to the everyday moments of your life, allowing you to live more fully and more joyfully. During this tele-workshop session, April will explain the importance and power of Mindfulness and guide you through several Mindfulness practices that you can add to your daily life. April Ely has worked as a psychotherapist for over 15 years, providing individual, family and group counseling for children and adults in schools, outpatient clinics, and domestic violence shelters. She currently has a private practice in Flagstaff, Arizona specializing in the area of trauma. Her commitment to helping her clients lead full and healthy lives led her to the study of Mindfulness, a practice and way of living that helps individuals to live more fully present in their own lives. Wanting to learn more about incorporating Mindfulness in her work with children, in 2011 April completed a teacher training course in “Mindfulness and Yoga for Children.” Since that time, she has created Mindfulness curriculums to be utilized in the schools to help empower children to calm their minds and open their hearts, as well as, incorporating those same powerful tools into her work with individuals and families within her private practice. Twenty-five years ago Sarah fell in love with meditation and has been immersed in ancient and contemporary wisdom traditions ever since. She loves to support those working toward fulfilling lives, better health, and inner peace. Lori S. Rubenstein believes that forgiveness and gratitude are like bookends on a life well-lived. Forgiveness helps clear the path and remove blocks that come with holding onto anger, hurt, frustration, guilt, and disappointment. Gratitude keeps you feeling aligned with the divine, positive, and able to regularly see the glass is really always full. With gratitude in your corner, you learn how to build your forgiveness muscles so when life with all its twists and turns gets in the way, you can let go and release with more grace and less effort. Lori S. Rubenstein (J.D, CPC) spent 18 years as a divorce attorney-mediator and quickly ascertained that the court system is not a healthy environment for families. Her passion for helping others led her down the path of relationship and divorce coaching, where she realized forgiveness was the cornerstone of all her work. As a forgiveness teacher, coach, author, inspirational speaker, and retreat facilitator, you will find Lori walks her talk. Lori’s special gift is helping people to see new perspectives so they can step into a new, more empowering life. She helps people see that what they call “tragedy” can in fact, be the soul’s greatest gift. May 5 at 6pm MT DISCOVER YOUR VOICE Sarah Payne Naylor
Sarah Payne Naylor believes that we all come to a point in our life where we begin to question, “How do I find my own voice? Not my parents voice, not my culture’s voice. But one that is uniquely mine?” There is so much information available about finding your voice in business, in leadership, on the Internet, through books, music, art, and poetry. But Sarah understands that it is rare to find information on where to begin and how to move forward on such an integral piece of authentic living. What are the benefits of discovering your voice? Confidence, security, integrity, honesty, compassion, acceptance, forgiveness, and standing in your own truth. During this tele-workshop session, you will explore and gain tools that will open the door to discovering your unique voice in the world. Sarah Payne Naylor is a life and career coach. Her work includes leadership development and executive coaching as an independent contractor for the Federal Government. She also brings experience in the business environment and non-profit sectors as well as state and national public policy advocacy. Sarah has been a partner in The Naylor Group since it was founded in 1995. Prior to this work she was an assistant director for public policy in the Lutheran Office of Governmental Affairs in Washington, D.C. As a member of the Board of Directors for Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service, Sarah traveled to refugee camps around the world. She is passionate about working with groups to facilitate spiritual and personal self-exploration and is the author of the well-received book, Crossing Rough Waters: Journey from Fear to Freedom. June 2 at 6pm MT ENVISION THE LIFE OF YOUR DREAMS Karen Ely
Envisioning is a tool Karen created 15 years ago because she simply did not know what else to do. She had just walked out of a 35-year relationship and was floundering, looking in every direction for a tool kit that might deliver her with the life she dreamed of living. She spent endless hours envision her ideal life in minute detail in her journals: the view from her new bedroom, the look of the curtains in her new house, what her new friends and she would discuss, what she would eat, how she would dress . . . until the process seemed to be getting a bit obsessive. But it surprised even her as she watched what she’d written in her journals slowly take form in her life. Since then, Karen has learned that this process has been used and taught by prophets, seers, sages and philosophers throughout the world’s history—that we can create our own lives, with every thought and through everything we do every day. That we, and we alone, hold the secret key to our dreams. Karen will walk you through the process of envisioning, both in your journal and on a vision board, and send you on a process of personal envisioning.
