 John Dear Talk and Book Signing 2/2, 1pm. Sedona’s inaugural World Peace Dance Celebration Week begins with a talk and book signing by peace activist and Nobel Peace Prize nominee John Dear. This free event will feature aspects of Dear’s new book, A Nonviolent Life, where he poses questions including, “How can we become people of nonviolence and help the world become more nonviolent?  Creating Abundance Workshop 2/2, 6-8pm. Led by Veerasana Oannes, this free workshop

 begins with gentle kundalini yoga,  then transitions into an expansive meditation to envision and manifest abundance followed by a transformative gong meditation. No experience necessary.  Peace Mask Making Workshop, 2/3, 9am-Noon.   Pash Galbavy,  mask maker, performance artist, dancer, author and artists’ model will guide you in using plastercloth to make a mask of your face, on your face, with the intent to create a mask that will represent your vision of peace. $15 for  materials.  Square One: A Metaphor for Life Art Workshop, 2/3, 1-2:45pm.  Andrea Smith, peace artist, owner of Andrea Smith Gallery, will use art and play to teach you that there is a VOICE in our heads that is always there. To turn down the volume and find that internal peace, we need to distract it and play.   Loving Ourselves So We Can Bring Love to the World Workshop 2/3, 3:30-5pm.             Debra Beck, author, devoted mother, mentor, sought-after presenter and expert on issues facing teens and parents, will give you the tools to shift old ways of thinking so you can love and care for yourself fully. You will see the importance of connecting with the negative voice inside along with the vulnerable child within to make the sustainable changes needed to create peace and happiness. Mindful Improvisation: Creating Peace Through Interconnections Workshop, 2/4, 10-11:30am. In this free workshop Marjori Timms will lead you to explore the possibilities inherent in our interconnectedness in a lively, fun, interactive experience of dramatic play. Through a variety of action-oriented improvisations and encounters, you will enact the feelings rhythms, songs, resolutions, reconciliations and partnerships that grow out of encounters with the stories held in collective consciousness.  Community Meditation Peace Walk, 2/6, 10-11:30am. This is a silent meditation walk for peace at Sedona’s jewel, the Amitabha Stupa and Peace Park. This striking 36-foot enlightenment stupa gets its name from Buddha Amitabha, the Buddha of Limitless Light, whose bronze image is nestled in the faceplate of the stupa.  Filled with hundreds of millions of prayers for peace, sacred relics and ritual offerings, the Amitabha Stupa is a vortex of enlightened presence and a beacon of blessings for all beings.  Enneagram for Worldwide Understanding and Compassion Workshop, 2/6, 12-1:30pm. Gerry Fathauer is a certified Enneagram teacher and past president of the International Assn of Enneagram Teachers.  Poets and Peace Readings and Workshop 2/7 1-3pm. Join more than 15 local poets who will read their peace poetry and then conduct a workshop where you will write your own peace poetry which be displayed later that evening at the Sedona World Peace Dance  & Concert at Sedona Performing Arts Center.   Sedona World Peace Dance & Concert, 2/7, 7pm. This inaugural peace dance and concert performance features Three Trees, drummer and halo player; Shibambo, drummer and percussionist and a troupe of dancers including choreographers Pash Galbavy, Sally Gebler, Elaine Hanson and Jamie Spears. By embodying personal, political and religious conflict, the dancers will inspire us to a place of peaceful resolution and peace- creating choices through love, forgiveness and compassion.
